How to find Add to Slack
The Add to Slack button is behind login, because each install must link to your CallMerlin account. Follow these steps:
- Create an account at callmerlin.app/signup, or log in at callmerlin.app/login.
- Open Dashboard → Slack channel (or go to callmerlin.app/dashboard/slack-settings).
- Click the green "Add to Slack" button on that page.
- Choose your Slack workspace and authorize CallMerlin.
- You return to the dashboard with status Connected.
Configure after install
- On the same Slack channel page, enable Slack inbound and click Save.
- Optional: set a Default PIN so team members without a linked PIN still get answers.
- Optional: set a channel filter or notification channel.
- In Slack, invite the bot: /invite @CallMerlin
When Merlin responds in Slack
- Channel mention: type @CallMerlin followed by your question. Merlin replies in a thread.
- Direct message: open a DM with CallMerlin and send a message. Merlin replies in the DM.
- Workflow approvals: if your account uses approval workflows, Merlin can post approval requests in Slack.
- Merlin does not reply to every channel message. Only @mentions, DMs to the bot, and configured workflow/alert posts.
Merlin uses AI and can sometimes give incomplete or inaccurate answers. Check important results in the connected tool before you act.
