From today you can create tasks, assign them to colleagues and have deadlines monitored by Merlin, all by voice or chat.
Teams work with action items. After a call with a client you want your colleague to send the proposal, prepare the contract or check the invoice. Until now you had to open your task manager, send a message or hope you remember. From today you just tell Merlin.
How does it work?
Creating tasks is as simple as talking. Say what needs to happen, who should do it, and when it should be done. Merlin records it, assigns it and monitors the deadline.
- Say 'Create a task: send proposal to Bakker Bakery, deadline Friday' and Merlin records it.
- Assign tasks to a colleague by mentioning their name or PIN.
- Merlin reminds the responsible person of approaching deadlines during their next conversation.
- Tasks are visible in the dashboard, desktop app, widget and Android app.
Creating tasks via the widget or app
Besides voice you can also create tasks manually. In the widget, desktop app and Android app you will find a + button to enter a description, priority and optionally a deadline. Merlin takes it from there. You can also create tasks in Slack or Teams with @Merlin create a task.
Combining tasks with workflows
Tasks become even more powerful combined with the Workflow Builder. Set up a workflow that automatically creates a task when an invoice becomes overdue, or when a deal moves to a new stage. The right person gets the task assigned automatically.

Availability
Tasks are available from the Professional plan. Starter users do not see the task feature in their dashboard, widget or app. When upgrading to Professional, tasks become immediately available including any previously created via voice.
Why not a separate task manager?
Every extra tool costs adoption. Merlin is already in your workflow: you call, you talk, and now you can capture action items without switching context. No new tab, no new app, just the same Merlin. And if you already use a tool like ClickUp or Asana, Merlin creates the tasks there via the integration so everything stays in one place.
