One embed snippet on SharePoint or Confluence and every employee can talk to your business software, or discreetly chat, directly from the browser.
Calling an AI assistant is handy on the go. But at the office your team already has a browser open all day, on the intranet. That is why CallMerlin provides an embeddable widget: one piece of code, and a button appears on your SharePoint, Confluence or custom intranet that lets you call or chat.
How it works
- Add your intranet domain to the whitelist in the CallMerlin dashboard.
- Copy the embed snippet and paste it just before the closing body tag.
- Employees click the button, verify their PIN and ask their question, speaking or typing, via the browser, without a phone line.
Chat discreetly instead of calling
The widget includes a full chat window. Sitting in an open office or meeting? Just type your question (and PIN). Chat and voice share the same tools, same permissions and same conversation history. You can even switch from typing to speaking mid-conversation.
The window is draggable, resizable and fully brandable with your own colours, font and border radius. Pure chat starts as 1 minute of your bundle; intensive back-and-forth may add extra minutes.
Why IT departments approve
The widget runs fully isolated on the page (Shadow DOM) and only loads on domains you have approved. Every request is checked for origin on our servers. Employees verify with their personal PIN (optionally plus a code from their authenticator app or via SMS), and each PIN has its own permissions enforced on the server.
- Shadow DOM: CSS isolation, never breaks your intranet styling.
- Domain whitelist: widget refuses to load on unapproved domains.
- PIN + 2FA: identical security level as the phone.
- Audit logs: who did what, when. Configurable: name, pseudonym or anonymous.
- No data on the client: all processing on EU servers.
The business case
Calls via the widget run over your internet connection, so there are no phone costs at all. Pure chat starts as 1 minute per session; intensive back-and-forth may add extra minutes. For an office with 50 employees asking questions daily, that adds up.
And the onboarding effect: new colleagues are productive on day one without weeks of software training. They click the widget and ask their question. The AI brain answers.
